Brownies

Inspired by:

  • 118 grams (1/2 cup) unsalted butter
  • 250 grams (1 1/4 cup) granulated sugar
  • 100 grams dark chocolate
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 28 grams (1/4 cup) cocoa powder
  • 96 grams (3/4 cup) plain flour
  • 85 grams (1/2 cup) chocolate chips (I used a mini egg bar)
  • (Extra mini egg chocolate bar for decoration)
  • Baking paper

  1. Preheat oven to gas mark 6 (200°C) and line an oven-proof dish with baking paper.
  2. Add the butter and sugar to a microwave-safe bowl and melt in the microwave for 1 minute.
  3. Stir the melted butter and sugar together and add the broken-up dark chocolate.
  4. Put back in the microwave for 2 minutes (or until fully melted) – stirring halfway through.
  5. Add the eggs and stir until fully combined.
  6. Stir in the salt and vanilla extract.
  7. Sieve the cocoa powder and the flour into the mixture.
  8. Stir until smooth.
  9. Fold in the chocolate (whatever chocolate you choose).
  10. Pour the mixture into your lined dish.
  11. Optional: add extra chocolate on top for decoration 🙂
  12. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
  13. Leave to cool before eating.
