
Brownies
Inspired by:
- 118 grams (1/2 cup) unsalted butter
- 250 grams (1 1/4 cup) granulated sugar
- 100 grams dark chocolate
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 28 grams (1/4 cup) cocoa powder
- 96 grams (3/4 cup) plain flour
- 85 grams (1/2 cup) chocolate chips (I used a mini egg bar)
- (Extra mini egg chocolate bar for decoration)
- Baking paper
- Preheat oven to gas mark 6 (200°C) and line an oven-proof dish with baking paper.
- Add the butter and sugar to a microwave-safe bowl and melt in the microwave for 1 minute.
- Stir the melted butter and sugar together and add the broken-up dark chocolate.
- Put back in the microwave for 2 minutes (or until fully melted) – stirring halfway through.
- Add the eggs and stir until fully combined.
- Stir in the salt and vanilla extract.
- Sieve the cocoa powder and the flour into the mixture.
- Stir until smooth.
- Fold in the chocolate (whatever chocolate you choose).
- Pour the mixture into your lined dish.
- Optional: add extra chocolate on top for decoration 🙂
- Bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Leave to cool before eating.
